Egyptian Housing Minister Randa Al‑Menshawi inspects major urban projects

Egypt’s Minister of Housing and Urban Communities, Engineer Randa Al‑Menshawi, visited the “Beit Al‑Watan” development in New Cairo. The project, part of a national programme to provide land parcels for Egyptians working abroad, comprises 17,555 plots across eight neighbourhoods, with infrastructure works including roads, water supply and sewage nearing completion.

She also toured the “Gardens of the Pharaonic Hills” on a 500‑feddan site in historic Old Cairo. Described as one of the largest parks under construction in the Middle East, the scheme aims to transform the area into a cultural, tourist and environmental destination. The development includes a 131‑acre investment zone with restaurants, malls and a lake, a cultural zone linked to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, recreational areas, and a heritage‑preservation zone exposing archaeological remains of the ancient city of Fustat. Al‑Menshawi stressed adherence to timelines, quality standards and the integration of historic character with modern amenities.
