Egyptian Industry Minister Khaled Hashim inspects four factories in Ismailia

Minister of Industry Khaled Hashim toured four manufacturing sites in the second industrial zone of Ismailia, Egypt, to assess production, export potential and employment. The visits included the Al‑Saudi Food Industries plant, a frozen vegetable and fruit processor with a 350 million EGP investment, a capacity of 40 000 tonnes per year, 100 % local content and exports to 21 countries, providing about 500 jobs.

He also inspected the Egyptian‑European Energy Technology (Atos) facility, which has a 600 million EGP investment, produces roughly 1 800 power‑generation units annually with 43 % local components and creates around 180 positions. The tour continued at Salam International, a ready‑made‑garments factory invested with 25 million EGP, capable of 1.2 million pieces a year, 60 % local content, exporting 80 % of output to Europe and the U.S., and employing roughly 650 workers. Finally, Hashim visited TO M Electric, a transformer and electrical‑equipment plant backed by 1.2 billion EGP, producing over 1 000 units annually, supplying markets in Iraq, Libya, Lebanon and Kenya, and supporting more than 1 000 jobs.

Hashim stressed that the food processing and garment sectors are key pillars for Egypt’s industrial growth, job creation and export diversification.
