Egypt petroleum companies report strong FY 2025/26 results

Egypt’s petroleum sector reported significant operational and financial results for the 2025/2026 fiscal year across several state-linked companies. The General Petroleum Company (GPC) achieved a record 12 petroleum discoveries and averaged 77,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, utilizing advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, horizontal drilling, and hydraulic fracturing to enhance production from mature fields.

Cooperation Petroleum reported a 43% increase in net profits, driven largely by a 610% surge in ship bunkering volumes, which reached 107,000 tons. Meanwhile, Petrofrich maintained an average production of 10,500 barrels of oil equivalent per day and increased its remaining reserves to over 11 million barrels of oil equivalent.

Infrastructure and refining also saw growth. The Petroleum Pipelines Company transported over 8.2 billion ton-km of products through its 6,300-kilometer network, with plans to expand the Sokhna Terminal capacity. Assiut Oil Refining (ASORC) produced petroleum products valued at approximately $3 billion and is developing a third distillation unit to nearly double its annual refining capacity from 4.5 million to 9.5 million tons of crude.
