Egyptian President Sisi orders expansion of social protection system and early‑childhood services

President Abdel Fattah Sisi met with Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsi to review and direct the overhaul of Egypt’s social protection framework. He called for a unified programme to extend assistance to the most vulnerable, continue the Takafol & Karama scheme that benefits 4.7 million families, and launch an annual impact report. The president also urged the development of early‑childhood care, expansion of nursery capacity, a database of nursery locations, and improved support for children in alternative family care and senior citizens.

In Beni Suef, the local Directorate of Social Solidarity concluded the selection of “Father of the Model” candidates, a programme aimed at highlighting exemplary fathers to strengthen family cohesion. The committee, chaired by Deputy Minister Hiba Al‑Jalali, reported a transparent process and will forward the chosen fathers to the national level for recognition.
