Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli pushes Fustat Gardens, building‑law reforms and $3 bn Medar‑Majid Al Futtaim c‑

Prime Minister Dr Mustafa Madbouli toured the "حدائق تلال الفسطاط" (Fustat Hills Gardens) project in central Cairo, describing it as one of the largest civil‑development initiatives in the Middle East. The 500‑feddan garden aims to restore the historic Fustat area, integrating cultural, heritage and adventure zones, new commercial and dining facilities, and extensive green space for residents and visitors.

Madbouli also chaired a meeting on accelerating amendments to Law No 187 of 2023 on the regularisation of building‑code violations. He urged swift drafting and parliamentary approval of the proposals to provide citizens with easier procedures and incentives for completing the regularisation process.

In a separate ceremony, Madbouli witnessed the signing of a strategic partnership between Egyptian developer Medar and UAE‑based Majid Al Futtaim. The agreement will develop an integrated urban project in the "Madi" area of New Cairo on about 553 feddan, with a development value exceeding US$3 billion, including up to 6 000 housing units, commercial, retail, tourism and hotel components, and extensive infrastructure.

These actions reflect the government's focus on large‑scale urban regeneration, regulatory reform and attracting foreign investment to boost Egypt’s economy.
