Egypt's Agriculture Minister inspects Productive Village initiative in Beni Suef
Egypt's Minister of Agriculture, Alaa Farouk, and the Governor of Beni Suef, Major General Abdullah Abdel Aziz, inspected the ‘Productive Village’ initiative in Ifou village, Al-Wasta center. The initiative aims to transform rural villages into integrated production units by utilizing local resources in agriculture, handicrafts, and vocational training to support local production and create sustainable jobs.
During the visit, officials inspected training units, dairy processing sites, and veterinary service locations. The program includes the distribution of improved dual-purpose cattle contracts to local farmers to boost livestock wealth. Additionally, 17 beehives were provided to diversify income sources for residents.
The initiative is implemented by the Agricultural Research Center in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and is funded in cooperation with Italy's Siam Pari Institute. The project covers approximately 400 acres involving 700 holders, with a total cultivated area of 1,306 acres. The development aligns with presidential directives to modernize the Egyptian countryside and improve living standards through integrated agricultural and industrial activities.
