Egypt's Agriculture Ministry unveils private investment plan and publishes research report

The Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, together with the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, outlined new mechanisms to attract private investment in agriculture. Ministers Dr. Ahmed Rustom and Alaa Farouk emphasized clear performance indicators, digital transformation, and the "productive village" model to expand cultivated land, boost agro‑industrial processing, secure strategic crop reserves, create jobs and empower women in rural areas.

In a separate release, the ministry published a detailed report on the activities of its research institutes for the first week of August 2026. The report covered field visits to rice and soybean farms in several governorates, extensive soil, water and fertilizer analyses, production of bio‑fertilizers, training programmes for university students, and collaborations with UNIDO and CottonConnect on cotton research and mechanisation. The findings aim to improve productivity, disseminate technical recommendations to farmers and support sustainable agricultural development.
