Egyptian Deputy Health Minister Abla Alfi leads health service improvements in multiple governorates
Deputy Minister of Health and Population Dr. Abla Alfi toured several Egyptian governorates to boost primary health care and maternal‑child services. In Beheira, she inspected the Family and Child Development Center in Damsena village, part of the presidential "Kareem Life" initiative, which offers a Japanese‑based preschool, speech‑therapy, Quran memorisation, art, sports and entrepreneurship training for youths and families.
In Matrouh, Alfi met health leaders, reviewed obstetrics units and pushed a program to lower Caesarean‑section rates, introduce VBAC (vaginal birth after Caesarean) and adopt the Robson classification. She highlighted a drop in C‑section rates to 28 % at one hospital and announced training for family doctors, expanded neonatal care, nutrition, school health and family‑planning services.
Separately, Dr. Ismail Al‑Arabi, the health ministry’s Red Sea deputy, inspected El‑Hamyat Hospital, checking compliance with quality and patient‑safety standards and urging swift provision of needed medical supplies. These field visits are part of the ministry’s ongoing effort to raise service quality, expand integrated primary‑care packages and improve health outcomes across Egypt.
