Egypt's Foreign Minister holds diplomatic meetings at UN General Assembly

On the sidelines of the 81st UN General Assembly in New York, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty engaged in high-level diplomatic and economic discussions.

During a roundtable with the Business Council for International Understanding (BCIU), Abdelatty emphasized the strategic partnership between Egypt and the United States. He called for translating political momentum into increased economic partnerships and direct investments, highlighting Egypt's economic reform program and its efforts to expand the private sector's role. The Minister noted Egypt's competitive advantages, including its strategic location and advanced infrastructure, while urging American businesses to explore priority sectors.

In a separate meeting with Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, the ministers discussed strengthening bilateral ties in political, security, and economic fields. They expressed interest in activating the Egypt-Pakistan Business Council to facilitate investment, particularly within the Suez Canal Economic Zone. Both officials also addressed regional tensions, stressing the need for de-escalation to maintain regional security and stability.
