Egypt's Health Ministry reports over 8.4 million free medical services delivered by mobile caravans

The Ministry of Health and Population disclosed that between 1 July 2025 and 30 June 2026, a nationwide programme of mobile medical caravans provided 8.4 million free health services to an estimated 3.4 million citizens. A total of 4,790 caravans visited all governorates, averaging 715 patients per caravan per day. Services comprised 40.57 % medical examinations, 35.33 % free treatments, 13.85 % laboratory tests and 8.86 % health education, with the New Valley, Alexandria and Beheira provinces receiving the highest numbers of caravans.

In the New Valley governorate, a caravan operating in the villages of Abu Mankar and Al‑Luwa Sabih (Farafra district) screened 424 individuals and distributed 44 free eyeglasses. Deputy Minister Dr. Sherif Sobhi highlighted the collaboration between local authorities, the Hayah Karima charity and civil‑society groups, emphasizing continued expansion of free medical outreach to remote areas.
