Egypt's Higher Education Minister Abdel Aziz Qansuh showcases digital Knowledge Bank at Paris summit

Egyptian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Abdel Aziz Qansuh attended the Transforming Education Summit held at UNESCO headquarters in Paris. In a high‑level ministerial session on inclusive digital transformation, he highlighted the Egyptian Knowledge Bank (EKB), describing it as one of the world’s largest public digital learning platforms that has served students, researchers and faculty for over a decade.

On the sidelines of the summit, Qansuh met UNESCO’s Director of Future Learning and Innovation, the Gatesways programme lead and an ITU senior adviser to discuss cooperation on the upcoming Gateways Africa Forum, which Egypt will host with UNESCO, UNICEF and the ITU. The discussions also covered responsible AI use in education, capacity‑building programmes and the development of public digital learning commons.

Additionally, Qansuh held bilateral talks with Armenia’s Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Jana Andreasyan, to explore joint projects in higher‑education research, student and faculty exchanges, and the use of European Horizon funding. The minister reiterated Egypt’s intent to expand new universities, international partnerships and joint degree programmes, positioning the country as a regional hub for knowledge and digital innovation.
