Egypt's Local Development Minister reviews Cairo and Matrouh projects

Egypt's Minister of Local Development and Environment, Manal Awad, held separate meetings with the governors of Cairo and Matrouh to review ongoing development and service projects.

In Cairo, discussions focused on the 'Cairo Afforestation' project, which aims to increase green spaces by planting trees along major roads and axes. The meeting also addressed the modernization of the 15 May slaughterhouse. This project includes expanding the facility by 10 acres, constructing new slaughtering units, installing a biogas unit for waste, and upgrading water and electricity infrastructure to ensure the provision of safe, healthy meat.

In Matrouh, the Minister reviewed the implementation of the 2026/2027 investment plan. Key topics included road paving, environmental improvements, and local services. The discussions emphasized the need for field follow-ups to ensure investment funds are utilized effectively to meet the needs of residents and visitors.
