Egypt's Minister of Endowments discusses religious cooperation with Sudan and Tanzania
Egypt's Minister of Endowments, Dr. Osama al-Azhari, held separate meetings to expand religious and cultural cooperation with Sudan and Tanzania.
In a meeting with the Sudanese Ambassador, Emad al-Din Mustafa, discussions focused on training imams and female preachers in Sudan. The parties explored utilizing the resources of the International Endowments Academy to exchange expertise and organize joint religious and scientific programs to strengthen historical ties between the two nations.
On the sidelines of the 11th International Conference of Fatwa Authorities in Cairo, Dr. al-Azhari met with the Mufti of Tanzania, Sheikh Dr. Abubakr Zubair Mbwana. The meeting addressed a proposal to establish a language institute at the Egyptian Islamic Center in Tanzania. The proposed institute would focus on teaching Swahili and English to serve the Tanzanian community. Discussions included the possibility of locating the institute in Dar es Salaam or Tanga to enhance scientific and cultural exchange.
