Egypt's Ministry of Housing opens land and commercial unit sales in new cities

Egypt's Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities announced the launch of phase 11 of the "Beit Al‑Watan" project, targeting Egyptians working abroad. 4,543 residential land parcels are offered across 22 new‑city developments, including New Cairo, Sheikh Zayed, 6 October, Al‑Shorouk and several Upper‑Egypt locations. Applicants must submit a bank transfer of at least US$3,050 with a correct booking code, be Egyptian citizens aged 21 or older, and use the land solely for housing. Two payment plans are available: a short‑term option with 25 % down and the balance spread over three years, or a long‑term option with 25 % down and the remainder financed over seven years at a fixed 4.75 % annual return.

In a related move, the ministry’s real‑estate and commercial affairs department scheduled public auctions for commercial shops and administrative‑professional units in the new cities of Badr, Al‑Mansoura New City and Al‑Obour. The Badr auction will list three shops and eleven units (18–60 m²), the Mansoura auction five shops/pharmacies (19–40 m²), and the Al‑Obour auction nine shops and seven units (22–70 m²). Auctions are set for mid‑July 2026, and detailed tender documents are available through the respective city development authorities.
