Egypt police hospitals to offer free medical exams for elderly care residents
To mark the International Day of Older Persons, Egypt’s Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Ministry of Interior have launched a joint initiative to provide free medical examinations for elderly residents in state-run care homes.
Throughout the month of October, police hospitals located in Nasr City, Agouza, Tanta, Alexandria, and Assiut will open their doors to beneficiaries. The services will be available every Friday from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
The initiative is being coordinated by the Elderly Care Fund and the General Administration for Elderly Care to ensure organized access for the residents. Currently, there are 201 care homes across 22 governorates in Egypt, housing a total of 4,468 elderly individuals.
