Egypt's PM Madbouly details Hajj plans and $5 bn medical city projects
Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly chaired a high‑level meeting to set the administrative and logistical framework for the 2027 Hajj season, coordinating with Saudi authorities and outlining travel, accommodation, medical services and a new pilgrim identification system.
In a separate session, Madbouly reviewed proposals for two integrated medical cities in the New Administrative Capital and in Al‑Ain, backed by more than $5 billion in foreign direct investment. The projects, overseen by Health Minister Dr. Khaled Abdel‑Gafar, aim to create hospitals, research institutes and training centres that will serve Egypt’s universal health insurance scheme and position the country as a regional hub for specialised medical care.
