Egypt's President Sisi unveils new national economic program after IMF reforms
President Abdel Fattah el‑Sisi ordered the preparation of a comprehensive national economic program aimed at lowering living costs, to be launched after the completion of Egypt’s reform program with the International Monetary Fund. He announced the plan during the inauguration of the Strategic Command Center in the new administrative capital, a massive complex covering about 22,000 feddans and 4.6 million m² of built space. The facility integrates advanced digital infrastructure, including high‑speed secured communications, artificial‑intelligence data analysis, and robust cyber‑security systems, and is intended to unify command of the armed forces, ministries and sovereign bodies for faster crisis response.
The new economic program is presented as the next phase of Egypt’s development strategy, building on the IMF‑backed reforms and targeting broader socioeconomic improvement across the country.
