Egypt's supply ministry seizes illegal food and fuel supplies across several governorates

The Egyptian Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade carried out intensive inspections in multiple governorates. In Beni Suef, officials seized 150 kg of meat deemed unfit for consumption and issued 15 violations related to bakery standards and market operations. In the Al‑Bahira (Bahira) region, four fuel stations were raided, with nearly 56,000 liters of subsidised diesel and gasoline confiscated for illegal resale, prompting legal action against the owners. In the Gharbia governorate, inspectors captured more than 5.6 tonnes of foodstuffs—including flour, sugar, animal feed, and suspect meat—as well as thousands of illegal juice packs, smuggled cigarettes and other contraband, resulting in hundreds of violations and the closure of several outlets. Across all raids, the ministry emphasized its commitment to safeguarding public health, protecting subsidised goods, and enforcing strict compliance with supply regulations.
