Egypt's Takaful and Karama cash assistance begins disbursement on 15 August 2026

The Ministry of Social Solidarity will start paying the August 2026 cash assistance of the Takaful and Karama programme on 15 August. Approximately 4.7 million families, covering about 18 million citizens, are slated to receive the benefit.

Payments can be collected through post offices, ATM machines, electronic wallets, and branches of Bank Nasser Social across the country. Beneficiaries can also check their entitlement online by entering their 14‑digit national ID on the ministry’s portal, which displays card status, any restrictions, and the amount due.

Eligibility requires that the head of the household is not a government employee or earning more than 400 EGP in insured wages, that the family has no agricultural land, vehicles or real estate, and that at least one child aged six is enrolled in school with at least 80 % attendance. Additional criteria include disability, chronic illness, or being among the poor, widows, or orphans.
