Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma challenges Dino Melaye over Atiku EFCC petition

Former House of Representatives member Ehiozuwa Agbonayinma has challenged Senator Dino Melaye regarding a petition filed with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) against former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.

Melaye had criticized the petition in a video, labeling it “shameful” and claiming the allegations had been investigated and dismissed over a decade ago. In response, Agbonayinma challenged the Senator to produce official EFCC decisions or court records to substantiate those claims. Agbonayinma maintained that his petition was filed to seek public accountability rather than as a political vendetta, asserting that no official should be shielded from lawful scrutiny.

Agbonayinma also addressed Melaye’s claims regarding his political affiliations. He dismissed allegations that he had sought to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC), clarifying that he remains a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He characterized Melaye’s comments about his political consistency as “either a deliberate falsehood or simply a reflection of how poorly informed” the Senator was.
