Ehud Barak accuses Netanyahu of preparing war to delay elections

Former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak has accused current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of preparing the groundwork for a war that would allow for the postponement of the upcoming elections scheduled for October 27.

Speaking to Channel 12, Barak characterized Netanyahu’s recent warnings regarding potential external attacks on Israel as a ‘political maneuver.’ Barak alleged that the Prime Minister is ‘easily lying’ and urged the Israeli public to ensure Netanyahu is removed from power during the upcoming vote.

The accusations come as Netanyahu faces declining poll numbers. The Prime Minister had previously suggested there were signs of preparations for an external attack against the country, though he did not specify the source of the threat. Opposition leaders have dismissed these claims as strategic attempts to influence the election cycle.
