Eichenbarleben fire damages barn and 20 vehicles
A large fire broke out at a commercial site featuring a self-help workshop in Eichenbarleben, Germany. The blaze destroyed a barn and damaged up to 20 vehicles.
More than 70 firefighters were deployed to manage the incident, which lasted several hours. Authorities issued warnings to residents in Eichenbarleben and Ochtmersleben to keep windows and doors closed due to heavy smoke. There was a temporary risk of explosion due to gas cylinders located on the property.
No injuries were reported. While the fire was initially brought under control on Saturday evening, firefighters returned on Sunday morning to perform follow-up work after smoke was detected again. The cause of the fire remains unknown, and criminal police have launched an investigation.
