The monument's operator, SETE, admitted that the group had requested arrangements to limit interactions with women and acknowledged that these conditions should not have been accepted as they conflicted with the company's values of gender equality.

The incident has drawn significant political condemnation in France. Paris Mayor Emmanuel Grégoire announced an investigation into the matter, stating that equality must apply throughout the city. SETE's president, Ariel Weil, reaffirmed the landmark's commitment to republican values and gender equality. BAPS issued an apology for any distress or inconvenience caused, noting the visit was coordinated to minimize disruption to other visitors.
