Eight dead in Turkish highway bus crash; separate Samsun collision leaves no fatalities

A bus traveling the İzmir‑Antalya route on the Aydın‑Denizli highway overturned after the driver pulled over to address a malfunction. The vehicle caught fire, killing eight occupants, including a 9‑month‑old infant, and injuring 33 others. Rescue teams extinguished the blaze after about 20 minutes and the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.

Earlier, a van transporting a family from Trabzon to a wedding near Ankara lost control on a slippery road in Samsun’s Terme district. The vehicle collided with a car and a roadside lighting pole, causing extensive material damage but no injuries. Police opened an investigation into both incidents.
