Romanian 8‑year‑old child killed by train after being reported missing

An 8‑year‑old boy from the municipality of Fetești, Ialomița County, was reported missing by his father in a 112 emergency call at around 10:00 a.m. Police launched an immediate search.

Ten minutes later, the driver of a train on the Bucharest‑Constanța line reported striking a minor near the Borcea halt. Police confirmed the victim was the missing child. The boy was found dead on the tracks. The train driver tested negative for alcohol. Railway traffic on the affected line was suspended pending investigation, which remains under the coordination of prosecutors.
