Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji Secures President Tinubu and Former Kogi Governor Bello’s Backing

Former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello arrived in Ekiti on Thursday, touring Omuo‑Ekiti and Ikole‑Ekiti to rally Kogi indigenes residing in the state. He urged the thousands gathered to vote en masse for incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming gubernatorial election, promising greater representation and development for the community if the governor is re‑elected.

On Tuesday, President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice‑President Kashim Shettima, addressed a massive APC rally in Ado‑Ekiti, calling on residents to cast “massive” votes for Oyebanji’s re‑election. Tinubu framed continuity as an investment in peace, progress and the future of the state and pledged federal support for ongoing development projects ahead of the June 20 election.
