Ekiti Governor Biodun Oyebanji to resume duties after annual leave

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji is set to resume official duties on Monday, September 7, 2026, following a two-week statutory annual leave. The leave was intended to allow the governor to prepare for his upcoming second-term administration, which follows his victory in the June 20 governorship election. Although on leave, the governor reportedly attended to essential governance and administrative matters.

In a separate development, Governor Oyebanji issued a statement congratulating former Ekiti State Governor Segun Oni on his 72nd birthday. Oyebanji described Oni as a distinguished statesman and a patriot, praising his past contributions to the state's infrastructure, healthcare, and economic growth. The governor noted that Oni's previous welfarist policies continue to benefit the people of Ekiti.
