The corruption investigation involving Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) and Ekrem İmamoğlu has reached its 70th day of proceedings. The indictment, spanning 3,809 pages, names İmamoğlu as an ‘organization leader’ and lists numerous charges, including bribery, money laundering, and fraud. Prosecutors are seeking prison sentences ranging from 828 years to 2,352 years for İmamoğlu.

During the hearings, Hasan İmamoğlu, the father of Ekrem İmamoğlu, testified that he delegated his commercial activities to Tuncay Yılmaz due to his age. He denied allegations of illegal property transactions, stating he has more than three apartments. However, prosecutors have requested a criminal complaint against Hasan İmamoğlu for money laundering, citing an unclear 1 million euro cash transfer to Yılmaz.

Other testimonies have surfaced, including allegations from Uğur Güngör regarding bribery during İmamoğlu’s tenure as Beylikdüzü Mayor. Former CHP MP Turan Aydoğan also testified regarding a 200,000 dollar payment. Additionally, Bayram Yıldırım, a former driver for Ertan Yıldız, testified about witnessing the delivery of electronic devices and money. The case involves 414 defendants, with 53 currently in custody.
