Ekrem İmamoğlu faces court hearing clash and party poster dispute in Turkey

On the 64th day of the Silivri trial involving 414 defendants, Istanbul Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu was removed from the courtroom after a dispute with the presiding judge over procedural objections. İmamoğlu later posted on the official presidential candidate account, stating, "Justice belongs to the people" and urging the government to turn its face to the public.

In Istanbul, CHP headquarters staff removed İmamoğlu’s campaign poster and replaced it with one of party leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Supporters re‑hung İmamoğlu’s poster later that night, prompting a confrontation with police and the deployment of rapid‑response units. Party officials described the incident as a defense of the voters’ will and reported that entry and exit to the building were blocked for some members.
