Ekrem İmamoğlu’s allies gather in Silivri, demand justice

Supporters of Istanbul mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu convened for the 35th meeting of the Aile Dayanışma Ağı (Family Solidarity Network) in the parking area adjacent to the Silivri Courtroom. The gathering included CHP deputy Sezgin Tanrıkulu, other parliamentarians, journalists, artists and citizens.

Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu, the mayor’s wife, addressed the crowd, declaring “Everything is clear, Ekrem İmamoğlu and his friends are innocent” and urging the Court of Cassation (Yargıtay) to “defend justice, protect its independence and fulfill its historic duty.” She criticised a recent “absolute nullity” ruling as illegal and warned that such decisions threaten Turkey’s democratic process and the legitimacy of past elections.
