EKYSU Paphos Congress addresses pension reform
The EKYSU Paphos District Congress focused on upcoming pension reforms and the demands of retirees. During the meeting, union leaders discussed the government's positions and the discrepancies with the labor movement's objectives.
Key demands include the abolition of a 12% penalty for those retiring at age 63 and ensuring widow's pension rights for men. The organization is also calling for the gradual repayment of the state's debt to the Social Insurance Fund, which is estimated at approximately 12 billion euros, alongside the implementation of a more effective investment policy to ensure the Fund's long-term sustainability.
