Regional updates on public health, animal welfare, and urban mobility
Various regional authorities are implementing public health and urban management initiatives. In Cochabamba, Bolivia, the Departmental Health Service (Sedes) is distributing 900,000 rabies vaccines for a mass vaccination campaign targeting pets on October 24 and 25.
In El Marqués, Mexico, municipal efforts include animal welfare programs and infrastructure upgrades. The Municipal Institute for Animal Protection (IMPA) has conducted over 200 animal health campaigns, including 111 rabies vaccination drives and thousands of sterilizations. Additionally, the mobility department has expanded its vehicle fleet and equipped agents with new technology and communication tools.
In Bogotá, Colombia, mobility authorities are conducting enforcement and infrastructure projects. Officials in Barrios Unidos conducted operations to penalize irregular parking on Calle 72 to recover pedestrian spaces. Meanwhile, the District Mobility Secretariat is overseeing the installation of speed bumps and signage in the Marruecos neighborhood to improve road safety and pedestrian protection.
