EL.AS. holds inaugural open meeting in Ioannina

The EL.AS. political movement held its first open meeting with members and supporters in Litharitsia, Ioannina, on Saturday, October 24. The event focused on discussing political developments, local issues, and regional proposals.

Dionysis Temponeras, the EL.AS. Labor Sector Chief, presented the organization's policy priorities, emphasizing social justice, democracy, and decent living standards. He criticized the current government, specifically targeting corruption and economic inequality. Temponeras proposed a wealth redistribution plan involving the taxation of large assets and financial products, alongside the creation of a ‘National Convergence Fund.’ This fund aims to leverage national and European resources to mobilize approximately €25 billion for production, the primary sector, and the social state.

Other participants included Energy Sector Chief Pleionis and Regional Coordinator Antonis Martinos. The meeting served as a platform for citizens to discuss the cost of living, public health, housing, energy, and support for small businesses and primary production. EL.AS. intends to strengthen its local presence through the Ioannina Coordinating Committee and its digital platform, myELAS.
