Elazığ introduces new regional walnut candy

A new regional confectionery known as ‘cevizli şeker’ (walnut candy) has been introduced in Elazığ, Turkey. Inspired by traditional almond candy, the product is produced by Ece Çerez ve Şekerleme.

Business owner İhsan Çakmak stated that the recipe combines local Elazığ walnuts, sugar, and blackthorn water (karaçalı suyu) to create a unique regional flavor. Following successful research and development and positive feedback from initial public tastings, the company has transitioned to mass production.

The product is currently available at local branches, with plans to expand distribution throughout Turkey and eventually to international markets to promote the gastronomic values of Elazığ.
