Elazığ promotes cultural tourism through “Museum City” vision

Under the “Museum City Elazığ” vision led by Mayor Şahin Şerifoğulları, the city of Elazığ is seeing increased cultural activity through its network of restored historical sites. Key locations including the Harput Musiki Museum, the Press Museum, the Hoca Hasan Hamam Museum, and the City Museum have become significant destinations for both domestic and international tourists.

The Harput Musiki Museum and the Press Museum serve as central hubs for preserving local musical traditions and historical media archives. Additionally, the Hoca Hasan Hamam Museum, which showcases Ottoman architecture and hosts musical performances, has seen high interest during the summer season. The City Museum, housed in a former government building, offers exhibits ranging from ancient history to local crafts.

Efforts to bolster the city's tourism potential continue with the restoration of the Elazığ Teachers' House, which includes a historic room used by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk in 1937. These projects aim to transform the city's cultural heritage into a continuous visitor experience.
