Elda and Cuenca municipalities awarded grants for social projects and emergency plans
The Municipal Institute of Social Services of Elda (IMSSE) opened its 2026 grant call for local social entities, allocating a total of €50,430. Up to €42,430 will fund specific social projects and up to €8,000 will support initiatives that promote active ageing. Applications must be submitted electronically by 23 July. Councilor David Guardiola said, "These aids represent a fundamental tool to strengthen the associative fabric of Elda and support the work of our social entities."
The Castilla‑La Mancha regional government granted €27,723 to 14 municipalities in the province of Cuenca to prepare Municipal Emergency Territorial Plans (PLATEMUN). The funding aims to improve coordination and rapid response to emergencies. Provincial delegate Ramón Pérez Tornero noted, "Having a municipal emergency plan allows us to anticipate risks, organise interventions and act swiftly when a serious situation occurs, minimising its impact on the population." The supported towns include Mariana, Valle de Altomira, Huerta del Marquesado and others.
