Elderly woman dies in Pesanggrahan house fire

An 80-year-old woman died during a house fire in the Pesanggrahan district of South Jakarta early Tuesday morning. The fire, which reportedly originated from an electrical short circuit, affected a house measuring 80 square meters.

According to the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue Service, the blaze was reported at 01:52 WIB. Firefighters managed to localize the flames by 02:11 WIB to prevent the fire from spreading to adjacent buildings. The victim, who was reportedly ill at the time, was evacuated by joint task forces and taken to a nearby hospital. The incident left seven people homeless.
