Eldorado Gold achieves first copper and gold concentrate production at Skouries
Eldorado Gold has announced a significant milestone at the Skouries mining project in northern Greece, successfully producing its first batch of copper and gold concentrate during plant commissioning on September 8, 2026.
The project is utilizing 4.6 million tonnes of previously extracted ore that was stored at a stockpile. This accumulated ore has a metal content exceeding the minimum thresholds required for industrial processing and is sufficient to sustain processing operations for over seven months, allowing the plant to scale up capacity independently of daily mining output.
The Skouries deposit is estimated to contain approximately 112 tonnes of gold and 740,000 tonnes of copper. Once operations reach a stable state, the mine is expected to produce an average of 4.35 tonnes of gold and more than 30,000 tonnes of copper annually.
