Eldorado Gold Skouries project operations
Overview
Eldorado Gold Corporation has transitioned its Skouries Project in northern Greece from the construction phase to operational status. On September 8, 2026, the company produced its first copper-gold concentrate following the successful commissioning of processing systems, including crushing, grinding, flotation, and tailings thickening circuits.
The project holds an ore stockpile exceeding 4.6 million tonnes, which is expected to provide more than seven months of continuous feed to support a gradual increase in production. CEO George Burns characterized the milestone as a “defining moment” and a “decisive moment” that begins a new chapter for the company.
As one of Europe’s largest copper-gold developments, the Skouries project is expected to reach full commercial production in the fourth quarter of 2026. Once fully operational, the mine is designed to produce approximately 140,000 ounces of gold and 67 million pounds of copper annually over a 20-year lifespan. This development is intended to diversify Eldorado Gold’s production into critical minerals and precious metals.
