Election Commission of India launches ELC 2.0 to engage youth

Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar addressed the fourth regional conference on Electoral Literacy Clubs (ELC 2.0) and ECINet in Goa, focusing on enhancing democratic participation among India's youth. Under the theme ‘Learn Democracy. Lead Democracy.’, the ELC 2.0 initiative aims to transform these clubs into structured, digitally enabled platforms within schools, colleges, and universities.

The program seeks to leverage India’s vast educational network to create a nationwide system of informed citizens. It will utilize the ECINet digital ecosystem and a dedicated portal to provide year-round electoral education, covering topics such as voter registration, polling, and counting processes.

Kumar emphasized that the Election Commission of India conducts elections in strict accordance with the Constitution and relevant laws, maintaining transparency through the participation and audit of recognized political parties and candidates at every stage of the process.
