Election coverage and transport issues reported in Brazil

In Brusque, photojournalist Vitor Souza reported being threatened and pushed while covering the second round of presidential election results. The incident occurred near the municipal directory of the PL party while Souza was photographing supporters of Flávio Bolsonaro. Souza stated that a group of men surrounded him, questioned his work, and used offensive language despite his identification as press. He also reported a second encounter near Praça da Prefeitura where individuals attempted to seize his camera and memory card. No injuries or equipment damage were reported, and a police report has been filed.

In Pará, the Mayor of Belém, Igor Normando, denounced intermunicipal transport companies for allegedly refusing to provide free transportation to voters, despite a state government decree mandating it. The Mayor indicated he would notify the Regional Electoral Court (TRE) and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) to seek legal action. Additionally, the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB-PA) has requested urgent measures from the TRE and the Electoral Public Ministry following reports of reduced trip offers and difficulties accessing free transport in several locations, including Belém and Breves. Due to fleet reductions in various cities, Supreme Court Minister Cristiano Zanin ordered the voting period to be extended until 19:00 across Brazil.
