Electric heavy trucks debut in Sydney with Zenobē and Unilever launches

Fleet‑electrification specialist Zenobē has placed its first electric prime mover—a Mercedes‑Benz eActros 300—into service for Winnings Appliances at its Kemps Creek depot in western Sydney. The 336 kWh truck is being financed and leased by Zenobē, which is also installing charging infrastructure. The rollout is part of a broader agreement to deploy 30 electric trucks across Australia, including additional Foton and larger‑capacity models.

Unilever Australia, working with New Energy Transport (NET) and Volvo, introduced its inaugural heavy electric prime mover for deliveries from an Ingleburn warehouse to customer sites across Sydney. The partnership supports Unilever’s net‑zero target for its value chain by 2039 and serves as a pilot to test reliability and service expectations for FMCG freight.

Both initiatives highlight growing corporate effort to decarbonise heavy‑goods transport in Australia, combining vehicle supply, charging solutions, and operational support to accelerate the shift toward zero‑emission freight.
