Electric mobility expands in Indonesia with new services and products

The electric vehicle market in Indonesia is expanding with new service and product entries. Vietnam-based Green SM has launched Green SM Bike, an electric two-wheeled ride-hailing service in Jakarta as of September 16, 2026. The association Garda Indonesia noted that while the new player promotes low-emission mobility and provides more income options for drivers, competition should focus on service quality and driver welfare rather than aggressive price wars.

In the consumer sector, Yadea Indonesia has introduced the OVA Mini, a compact electric bicycle priced at Rp6.9 million. Designed for urban mobility, the vehicle features a 500W motor, a maximum speed of 25 km/h, and a range of up to 50 kilometers. It includes smart technologies such as Bluetooth App connectivity, Smart Unlock, Traction Control System, and Cruise Control.
