Electric vehicle competition grows in Brazil
The entry-level electric vehicle market in Brazil is seeing increased competition between new models and used options. The Chevrolet Spark EUV and the Geely EX2 are emerging as key competitors in the sub-R$ 150,000 segment. The Spark EUV, produced in Ceará, features a 42 kWh battery with 258 km of autonomy, while the Geely EX2, to be manufactured in Paraná, offers a slightly higher autonomy of 289 km despite a smaller 39.4 kWh battery.
In the used vehicle market, the Chevrolet Bolt EV has become a viable option for consumers seeking higher performance and range at a lower cost. As of August 2026, used Bolt EV models (2020–2022) are priced between R$ 134,000 and R$ 138,000. While the Bolt offers superior power and a range of up to 390 km compared to new competitors like the BYD Dolphin or Geely EX2, it faces challenges regarding parts availability and warranty compared to newer Chinese models.
