Electric vehicle performance tests reveal range and efficiency data
Recent testing of electric vehicles has provided detailed insights into energy consumption and real-world range under varying conditions.
The Kia EV4 received a five-star rating and a 90 percent score from Green NCAP for its environmental impact and efficiency. In summer road tests, the Earth trim model with an 81.4 kWh battery demonstrated a consumption of 13.9 kWh per 100 km, with an estimated combined range of 548 km. However, winter conditions significantly impact performance; the estimated combined range drops to 380 km, and consumption increases to 26.9 kWh per 100 km during laboratory cycles with cold starts.
In a separate long-distance test, a Volkswagen ID. Polo Life equipped with a 37 kWh battery traveled from Bratislava to Venice, Italy. Despite a WLTP range of 331 km, the vehicle completed the 626 km journey in approximately 8 hours and 48 minutes using only two charging stops. The vehicle arrived at its destination with 27 percent battery remaining.
