Electric vehicle sales grow in Peru amid new BYD promotional campaign

The electric vehicle market in Peru is experiencing significant growth. According to the Asociación Automotriz del Perú (AAP), 8,285 electrified vehicles were sold during the first half of 2026, an 86% increase compared to the same period the previous year.

In response to this trend, BYD Motorysa Perú has launched the ‘Spring Sale Fest’ campaign, running from September 11 to 23. The promotion offers benefits such as three years of free maintenance on selected models and free 7kW chargers for specific plug-in hybrid and electric models, including the Song Plus DM-i and Shark DM-O. BYD entry-level prices in the country start at USD 19,990.

Industry experts, including Pluz Energía, highlight that the shift toward electromobility offers key environmental and economic benefits, such as reduced carbon emissions, lower noise pollution, improved energy efficiency, and decreased operational costs for vehicle users.
