Electric vehicle sales reach 20 million globally in 2025

The automotive market is seeing a significant shift toward electric mobility. According to data from the International Energy Agency (IEA), over 20 million electric vehicles were sold globally in 2025, accounting for one in every four new car sales. In Europe, sales of electric vehicles grew by more than 30 percent, representing approximately 28 percent of all new car sales.

As electric vehicles become more common, consumer focus is shifting from whether to buy one to determining which specific model best fits daily habits, such as commuting distance and charging availability. Meanwhile, traditional internal combustion engine models like the Ford Puma remain available, with prices starting from 18,990 euros for the 1.0 EcoBoost mHEV model.
