Electrolux unions warn against production relocation to Poland
Labor unions Fim, Fiom, and Uilm have issued a formal warning to Electrolux to prevent the relocation of production phases from the Cerreto d'Esi plant to Poland. This action follows reports that the Swedish multinational intends to move critical manufacturing processes starting November 1.
During an assembly with over 150 workers, union leaders Massimiliano Nobis, Barbara Tibaldi, and Gianluca Ficco addressed concerns regarding the potential depletion of the site's activities. The unions have sent the warning to both Electrolux and the Ministry of Enterprises and Made in Italy (Mimit).
Electrolux has previously indicated a desire to close the site, suggesting only potential re-industrialization rather than continued production beyond December 31. A formal negotiation meeting is scheduled for October 29 at the Ministry to discuss the dispute.
