Elektroprivreda BiH invests 53 million KM in solar plants

Elektroprivreda BiH has signed a contract with the Turkish company Girisim Elektrik Sanayi to construct two photovoltaic power plants, Gračanica 1 and 2, in the Bugojno municipality. The project, valued at 53 million convertible marks, will have an installed capacity of 50 MWp.

The solar plants will be built on the site of the former Gračanica coal mine external landfill. This initiative aims to repurpose reclaimed mining land for clean energy production, supporting the company’s long-term energy transition strategy and reducing its carbon footprint in alignment with European climate trends.

The scope of work includes design, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, and maintenance. Funding for the project is secured through cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and UniCredit Bank d. d. Mostar.
