Elektroprivreda Crne Gore marks 116 years with major energy investments

Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG) is marking 116 years since the first electric power plant was commissioned in Cetinje in 1910. The company is currently undergoing one of its most intensive investment cycles to date.

Strategic goals include increasing domestic production to reduce import dependency through the modernization of existing capacities and the construction of new energy sources. Key projects include the Gvozd wind farm, which is nearing commercial operation, solar programs for thousands of users, and the ecological reconstruction of the Pljevlja thermal power plant.

Future developments involve new wind and solar plants, hydroelectric modernization—such as installing a new unit at the Perućica plant—and the development of energy storage systems to support Montenegro's energy transition.
